Pennay's Unit 14

We came in from Utah and while the snow was not great the location and town was fantastic. 1st time there in Sun Valley and really enjoyed it. Would stay there again for sure. Would have liked a lift on the snowmobile after a day of skiing but they were not running. Maybe next time.

We were very happy with our stay at Pennay’s for our first trip to Sun Valley. The walk to the lifts was very easy and quick. Loved being able to walk to town for dinners. The communication from Pennay’s was 5 stars! We couldn’t have asked for a better place. Plenty of room for our family of 5!

Great location--quiet, on the edge of town, but still near enough to walk to town. Nice units with everything you need, even kitchen stuff. Easy to make reservations. Good price for expensive Ketchum.

Had a terrific experience at Pennay’s where we stayed for our annual girls ski trip. Resort is a less than five min to gondola and also an easy walk into town if Ketchum. We usually rent a car for these trips but with our place so close to everything we did not need to. The unit we stayed in was very clean and comfortable. Kitchen had all the necessities and what was also nice was the place was stocked with plenty of towels. A TV in each room also allowed for some breaks from travel friends. Would def stay again.

Overall very good. Only issue worth mentioning is the WIFI coverage. There is one modem/router for each set of 3 condos. We were lucky enough to have the condo with the cable modem in it, so we were able to power cycle it when we ran into problems (when internet stopped working). My recommendation here is for each condo to have it's own. Different families should not be sharing, as this can lead to security issues. Furthermore, the access to the internet is not protected by password. That should be changed. There should be a humidifier in each bedroom. We only found one. It should be upgraded as well. We had a temporary fridge, and it froze some of our food. New fridge expected soon for unit 14.

Our stay at Pennay’s was great. The place was clean and plenty of room for 4 adults. The unit has everything we needed in the kitchen. The refrigerator was a little small, but the owner said that was being replaced. The hot tub was hot and clean, and easy to get to. Getting to the lift was little effort, as it was at most 200 yards to the bridge where you had to take your skis off. You could ski down there with a little pulling, and on the way back required a little more pulling (or walking), but a short distance. Really great complex and close to town. The office was very responsive.

Great property. Fabulous location next to the river and a short walk to the town center.

Property was spacious, even for 6 of us (2 adults & 4 kids) and having 3 bathrooms was helpful. Hot tub is right outside the patio door so very convenient. Also, the master bedroom shower head is high enough so that you can actually stand up while showering!

All the necessary appliances, utensils and supplies etc. were present and in full working order, and property management were excellent - very quick to respond to any questions that we had.

Would definitely recommend this property.

This was our first time staying at Pennay's and it won't be our last. The location near River Run is great for skiing Bald Mountain, no cars or driving needed to get to the slopes. Since we visited during Covid, we spent a lot of time at our condo and ate in most of the time. Unit 14 has a nice layout with comfortable bedrooms upstairs, cozy fireplace and living area down. We were spoiled, when we had new snow our car was even brushed off and after a hard day on the slopes you can get a ride home on a snowmobile pulled sled. Major bonus is that pets are allowed in some units, we were able to bring the entire family including our dog. We will stay here again on our next trip to Sun Valley.

The owners live on the property and they are so sweet, and respond quickly. The set up was perfect for a family of 5, with plenty of beds for everyone.

Pennay’s at River Run is truly one of the well managed lodging I have stayed at. Our unit 14 was modern, well furnished, and clean. Cheri and the staff keep the grounds maintained, and are always available for questions or concerns. Trash and towel swap out every other day was a nice touch. The sleigh ride back from skiing was a welcome bonus.

We rented the condo for our family so that we could be with another family that lives in Ketchem. We brought two sons who are skiers.

This is one of the few locations in SV where you can walk to the slopes and to town, so we didn't have to rent a car. Cheri was great to deal with and bent over backwards for us. She and Alan make Pennay guests feel like family. The townhouse was cute, clean and well stocked, and it was great to have 2 1/2 baths for a family of 5. The hot tub was right outside our unit's door which was awesome!
Only down side was that we have adult kids and the bunk bed mattresses were so firm/hard that no one could sleep on them. One of the kids had to sleep on the comfy couch each night.
Overall I would HIGHLY recommend Pennays!

Our family of four stayed at Pennay's over labor day in Unit 14. It was perfect! Great view of the mountain and a good unit for our group. The whole staff including Alan Pennay made us feel welcome our whole stay even though it was a busy weekend for them. Would definitely recommend staying here. Easy walk to bike path and to the river.

3 night stay during 2017 Eclipse

The location of this condo couldn't have been better. We walked and biked everywhere. This condo was clean and spacious for our family of 6. The views from the porch are just beautiful! The bed in the master was cozy as well! I'm so thankful we stayed at Pennay's for our first time in Ketchum. We look forward to coming back to this condo soon!

From the time of booking to the drop of at the airport to depart, the experience once again was only positive. No fuss but everything falls into place. This is the tenth time we have experienced the joy of Pennay's and everything Sun Valley has to offer. This year we again brought some friend who have skied all over the world and they too had nothing but praise for the whole experience. They like us will be back again next year.

We had a wonderful experience at Pennay's while staying in the area for our son's wedding. The management was very helpful at arranging accommodations for a variety of needs of our family and friends coming to the area for a weekend celebration.

The location is excellent. Steps from the biking trail, and a 5-minute walk to the Gondola at Mount Baldy with excellent hiking trails and a 5-minute walk to the fun and food in town.

It was a great to be, very peaceful but also close to Ketchum and Sun Valley. Really appreciated Allan bringing us fans and extra folding chairs.

The location couldn't be better -- ski right to River Run and catch a snowcarriage ride home in the afternoon! View of the mountains, river, and trees is lovely. Alan Pennay and Cheri, the manager, are charming hosst and take great care with the property and the guest's needs.

This was a wonderful property, with a fantastic location, just minutes from the ski resort, an easy walk. Allan was very nice and welcoming. When I found that we had no chef's knife, he not only brought me one, he brought a whole set!

About the only thing I didn't like was the bench seats for the dining table, just not comfortable after a day of skiing. I would recommend this property, and we hope to return!
